Charlotte Becker is a graduate student at the University of California, Santa Barbara.  She specializes in 19th-century poetry, the history of the book, and textual materiality.  Her current research interests include 19th-century gift books, the Pre-Raphaelite circle, and art books of the fin de siècle.

Charlotte is a founding co-convener of an interdisciplinary research focus group, History of Books & Material Texts, through the Interdisciplinary Humanities Center (http://www.ihc.ucsb.edu/) at UCSB.  She also serves as a research assistant for the UCSB English Broadside Ballad Archive.

She is currently developing her prospectus for her dissertation on gift books, female social networks and sociable exchange in the 19th century.
