Joshua Neves is a PhD student in Film and Media Studies at UCSB. His present research interests focus on media events and media environments–from late 19th century electrical exhibitions to the contemporary Olympic Games. Joshua is currently involved in planning a graduate student conference–Media Fields–examining the epistemological, spatial and atmospheric interrelations of media spaces and disciplines, to be held at UCSB in April 2007.
